Founded over 17 years ago, SYM is children’s development organisations in CHHATTISGARH, INDIA. We work in 5 district ( Bilaspur, Kawardha, Mungeli, Korba and Sarguja), 7 block, 77 panchayat, 218 villages and 22 wards in Chhattisgarh, to promote child rights and lift thousands of children out of poverty. In 2014, SYM worked with 37545 families. Our work areas had a population of two lacks people – including 30 thousand children. SYM is independent, with no religious, political or governmental affiliations.SYM is an Indian NGO working to improve the lives of disadvantaged children, their families and communities through an approach that puts children at the centre of community development. Since 1997, we have been working to help children access their rights to proper healthcare, basic education, and healthy environment, protection from abuse and exploitation and participation in decisions that affect their lives. SYM currently works in CHHATTISGARH states in India, and work with SC, ST, OBC communities and has touched the lives of over a thousand children. SYM is a egistered child centred Non Profit Organization. For over 17 years, SYM and our partners have helped communities throughout India to help themselves, so that children have access to their rights including the right to protection, basic education, proper healthcare, a healthy environment, livelihood opportunities and participation in decisions which affect their lives. We encourage children to express their views and be actively involved in improving their communities.
